| The Center’s Board of Directors is in the process of developing a long-range strategic plan for the agency. A local consulting firm is working on a pro-bono basis with the Board and staff to develop a comprehensive plan. The Board of Directors and the Center’s Executive Director, Norma Rutledge, recently participated in a board retreat. Prior to the retreat, a survey was conducted that included Center staff and community stakeholders. |

Volunteers are the foundation of our Center. In 2007, paraprofessional crisis line counselors, counselor consultants, LOSS team members, Survivors of Suicide group peer facilitators and board members donated over 26,600 hours to the Center. April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and each week in April we are holding a drawing and presenting the volunteer chosen with a small token of appreciation. The month will culminate with an afternoon gathering at the Baton Rouge Zoo on Sunday, April 27th, where volunteers and their families will be honored. |
